As one of the top literary agencies, our objective is simple. We are here to work our butt off to get your script(s) into the hands of players in the motion picture film and/or television industries. It is a tremendously hard industry to break into!
I am a Screenwriter Literary Agent.
We cannot, and will not, make promises of Options or Sales, however, we do promise to do everything within our scope of power to work as hard as we can for you.
If you have a script, or scripts, you would like represented, click on the Contact page, and shoot me a message.
There is no fee up front for our service. We do require a non-exclusive signed contract, and a Limited POA to have on hand, giving Simpson Literary Agency the ability to negotiate for you. Any approval needed for Final Contract(s) will be in the hands of the writer.
We will take average industry standard percentage for any and all work sent to the writer. There is a small percentage difference between domestic and international. This includes but is not limited to Options and/or Sales.
Our Industry List grows monthly, and you will be kept up to date on all contact made on your behalf.
The following list is what we need to get started representing you: (If you are signed)
If you are a Screenwriter for hire, let us know that, too!
Once you have an agent, or hire a manager, the job still isn't over. In fact, your journey has just begun! I expect my clients to take initiatives; network, look for meetings, join groups...continue to help nurture your own growth! Work WITH me.
Everyone has to start somewhere. Never get cocky. It's all about relationships. Don't badger contacts ~ that's the worst thing you can do (besides writing a horrible script). Once you are able to sell or option a script...fit into your own clothes. Don't ever get too big for your own britches!
Always...always...always be ready to pitch. You never know where you will have a chance. Heard of the elevator pitch? How about the drugstore pitch...or the baseball game pitch? It can happen anywhere. Know your story inside and out. Have a pitch at the ready at all times. Actually, if they are not interested in that one, have more ready in case they ask for a different idea.
Script theft happens. It's important to have the correct information as to how to protect your work. To copyright your screenplay, go to the US Copyright office online & complete their application. They have an area for scripts & screenplays. There is a fee.
